I have zero clue what is going on in this matter and find it hard to believe the media and this mother is an idiot.
I will state if this guy has proved to have been one to harm this little girl. He should be burned alive at the stake in public to be a warning to others who would do something like this. By burning him at the stake will allow him to do something useful with what little he has with his life. Cruel and unusual? I believe criminals set the example by their own criminal conduct.

Some women are attracted to bad men, because bad men won't have high expectations of them. Even so, if you are a parent or guardian, you are expected to be judgmental about SOME things.

Not "judgmental?" She has NO judgment, if it is true she allowed this person to be alone with her daughter - ever. This is just sickening.

And yes, far too many women actually seek out these sick monsters to befriend or live with.

Beyond understanding. But then, so is a great deal of human behavior.

I note that the story did not state what "sex crime" George Kennedy is accused of.

It seems doubtful it was one of those 18.1 year old boyfriend with 16.9 year old girlfriend things, but with so much ambiguity in the so-called laws, some journalistic clarity would be appreciated.

My wife was once called to jury duty, and the quote "Judge not, lest ye also be judged" came to her mind. She was worried about disobeying Jesus' teaching on pride and thinking oneself a better person (perhaps without sin) than one's neighbor. The judgementalism Christ spoke against was demonstrated with the Pharisee and the tax collector. I explained that this was much different than being impaneled to duly judge by the facts of the case whether someone was guilty of a crime. I also noted the verse that says, "By their fruits you shall know them." Now that's not judgemental pride or self-righteousness; that's being wise as to whether someone is trustworthy with your kids. Jesus was never against that kind of judgement.
