Figures they'd let this abusive deviant plea down. Any wonder what would have happened had one of these women pulled a firearm on him and ordered him to back off?

The sad part of that otherwise delightful scenario, of course, is that whether she solves his problem or not, is moot, since her life will be ruined either way. If she has to deck him, at least he won't be terrorizing any more victims, and that's a definite plus. But she's killed a cop, and even if she does live long to tell about it, she's ruined. Likewise, if she does not have to deck him, she'll be ruined as well--possibly even moreso despite her reticence--when the full power of the state is later brought to bear to exonerate him and mark her for life, grinding her into the ground as an example of why even more people need to be disarmed.
(Hm, is there a lesson there somewhere?)
