The Global Sword

We've been talking about the INTERPOL Executive Order Barack Obama recently issued, here and here. It made me recall a post from October where I sarcastically suggested "just give them diplomatic immunity."

Anthony Martin has a hornets' nest going on over at Columbia Conservative Examiner, and I see Bob Unruh at WorldNetDaily is also on the story. The globocop logo they illustrate their column with has a familiar configuration:

Everybody remembers the seal of the evil alternate universe Terran Empire from Star Trek's "Mirror Mirror" episode, right?

I'm not the first to notice.

Interpol. Now that I think about it, how many stories have I seen in passing where they use their only one status to run child rape/ kidnapping rings? Oh, but they're here to save us from al-quaeda.

Here's the "act" in full: --> http://www.ipu.org/finance-e/PL79-291.pdf

Here's the MOST troublesome bit IMHO. I've [paraphrased] only for clarity:...

=======================================
...
Title 1,
Section 2
(a) [Interpol] shall, to the extent consistent with the instrument [which] creat[ed it], possess the capacity to... institute legal proceedings.

(b) "[Interpol]...shall enjoy the same IMMUNITY FROM ... EVERY FORM OF JUDICIAL PROCESS AS IS ENJOYED BY FOREIGN GOVERNMENTS [unless interpol expressly waives said immunity]..."

(c) "Property and assets of [interpol], wherever located and by whomsoever held, shall be immune from search... and from confiscation [unless interpol expressly waives such immunity]. The archives of [Interpol] shall be inviolable.

(d) "Insofar as concerns... the registration of foreign agents; and the treatment of official communications, the privileges, exemptions and immunities to which [Interpol] shall be entitled shall be those accorded under similar circumstances to foreign governments."
...

Personally I don't believe most who are worried about this are worried ENOUGH. Think of all the stories of crimes committed by those with "diplomatic immunity" - cops can't even stop a car with diplomatic plates or detain an individual with diplomatic ID.

Non-citizen cops with no constitutional limits.

What country is this again?
