We're the Only Ones Academic Enough

A bill introduced in the state Senate last week could give some university and community college professors the right to carry concealed firearms on campus. [More]
Bull.

First off, I reject the authority of any senate to "give" me any rights.

Second, why give the eggheads "Only Ones" status when the current "Only Ones" shouldn't even have "Only One" status?

Hell, in most cases, the damn college professors are part of the disarmament crowd anyway. Yeah, I'm real sure once they have their place at the table they'll be clamoring for the rest of us to be seated.

God gave me my rights and the Constitution guaranteed them. All others are just pretenders trying to take what is mine. Thieves were meant to be hung.

Hanged Carl. Hung is what I am. Hanged, I believe is what you had in mind.

How about this, though? Even with training college professors are too stupid to be trusted with tools. Isn't that what they said? why! I believe it is.

It's so much fun to see them eat their own.

"Berch said he would not want to be next to a colleague carrying a gun."

Oh, how cute. He seems to think that if the state decrees something "illegal", it's not there.

This man must be very nervous in his daily life...going around among potentially armed Arizonans that are not even worthy of the label "colleague"...

I am glad I graduated. I did carry though without any permission post V-Tech. I know some eggheads packed heat also since one of the professors was mugged on campus, which was also post V-Tech. Like I trust overweight old guys in golf carts with MagLites and blue light phones to protect me.

The idea of creating new "only ones" reminds me of this John Bergstrom from 2007.

I have 3 comments:

1. David is right. No new only ones. "Shall not be infringed" means just what it says.
2. It is sad to see such an anti-intellectual attitude among some gun-owners. While it is true that many college professors are anti-gun leftists, you might be surprised by how many are just the opposite.
3. I am a college professor who has carried on campus, in my classrooms, every day for the last several years. It is a violation of the policies of my college but not a violation of state law. No one knows, nor do they need to know.

In re point 2: I would love to be surprised.

Sure be nice if they made their presence known, and used the benefits and visibility of their leadership positions to show real leadership.
