This is a placeholder for now because I have not had ads on this blog for years. In case I ever start up again, this will be the policy in effect:
The FTC has some fool nonsense rules about ads on blogs or some such and presumes authority over the First Amendment to compel the unfunded mandate that we who earn ad revenues make some kind of disclosure so you don't think we're getting paid to say nice things about people or God knows what, meaning they must think you're stupid, too. I have had a few ads on this site in the past and may do so again if I think it's worth a try. Combined, I probably couldn't buy a box of good cigars each year, let alone a bottle of George T. Stagg, and that is somehow supposed to compromise my morality to force me to say nice things about products and services I don't mean simply in exchange for filthy lucre. If you believe that, leave now--you're not smart enough to be here. Bottom line, aside from welcoming a sponsor, I will do no posts related to their products or services, or reviews of what they offer.
About "The Only Ones"
The purpose of this feature has never been to bash cops. The only reason I do this is to amass a credible body of evidence to present when those who would deny our right to keep and bear arms use the argument that only government enforcers are professional and trained enough to do so safely and responsibly. And it's also used to illustrate when those of official status, rank or privilege, both in law enforcement and in some other government position, get special breaks not available to we commoners, particularly (but not exclusively) when they're involved in gun-related incidents.
Comment House Rules
Keep them on topic. No spam. No threats against anyone except me. Do not feed trolls--I'll take out the trash. Try to keep it clean. I'm the final arbiter. If you don't like the rules, start your own damn blog.
Link Policy
WarOnGuns reciprocates links with liberty-oriented sites promoting the right to keep and bear arms for all peaceable individuals. If you have linked to me and don't see your site below, it's probably just because I haven't noticed it yet. Shoot me an email via the "Contact Form" (see above in this sidebar) if you want to fix that.
As a general rule I remove links for blogs that have been inactive for over one year.
The article doesn't say if it was a live round or not, so I left this comment over there. I wonder if they will publish it:
First off, I am laughing in a combination of amazement and disgust at some of the comments left by the “rabbit people”. Such fearful and paranoid responses are WAY overboard. To think that this is the same state where everyday armed citizens led the Revolution? Oh, well…
On to the issues and some RATIONAL analysis:
Depending upon whether it was an expended round or a live round, I would bet even money that one of two things happened here: 1 – That an empty, useless shell fell out of the garbage truck, as suggested above. 2- That some HS kid had a live round of their own in his/her jacket, either from shooting over the weekend and they forgot about it, or that they thought it would be “cool” to bring a live round to school. Either way, they realized that it was not wise to maintain possession of said round and dropped it before entering the school. (Silly forgetful/impetuous HS kids, ya know?)
As to finding such an object, I can think of 4 RATIONAL options:
If you don’t know anything about guns, either take the fired, empty shell and toss it in the trash (it is harmless garbage to anyone but a reloader) or give the live round to someone who DOES know about ammo and guns. CALMLY. It CANNOT hurt you!
A cop is an option if you feel inclined to imagine the worst case scenario. Bear in mind that school shootings, although highly publicized, are extremely rare. Use your judgment WISELY. That applies to everyone, shooter or non-shooter alike.
If you are a shooter, your knowledge is vastly superior. If it is an expended round and you own a shotgun and reload, inspect it and either toss it or keep it. If it is a live round, inspect it carefully and either render it useless or take it home and fire it out of your Mossberg, Remington, Benelli, etc.
It’s like finding a dollar that someone dropped…
(PLEASE, NO whining from the “rabbit people”, OK?)
Tom W., Handing a live or spent round to a cop in the state of MA could have you ending up in jail if you have not paid the mandatory firearms and ammo tax (licensing fee). State law makes no distinction between a harmless piece of brass and a live round, and without the required approval..well, you get the picture. The real solution would be to stop the pussification of the masses.
BrianF, Thanks for that intel. I didn't know that MA was that FUBAR, but then again, I shoulda known. :)
Odds are they would actually persecute ya on that, too.
Regardless, I have no intention of crossing the Mississippi in a northern way ever again, or even going to the Left Coast, so I am relatively safe here in the Rockies for now. Did I reiterate "for now"?
Back to the point, if I had known that, I would have advised to either pick up the "offending shell", live or not, and quickly pocket it, or RUN! :)
Sadly, I still have family up there in that sad, sorry state. When I go up that way, I usually stay at family in NH and encourage my poor MA relatives to visit me there.
Me? I left there five years ago, and will never move back there again.
I used to wonder how those folks could re-elect T. Kennedy over and over, term after term.
This answers my question. It's obvious. A single amoeba has more grey matter and backbone than does every one of the rabbits who posted comments under this article.
Their patriot forefathers must be looking down upon them with disgust and shame.
WW, Come on, now. There were a few others who laughed at the spineless ones aside from myself. So not ALL.
How they kept voting for the cowardly such and so that let a woman drown, I do not know. Maybe the mental disease of collectivism conflicts with coherent thought. I agree with Ann Coulter (may she gain 30 pounds of muscle) on that issue.
Regardless, when David or Pete (WRSA) or even Mike (Sipsey Street) posts an article that links to another Constitutional atrocity, I am finding it more and more difficult to keep my internet "mouth" shut!
HotAir, Michelle Malkin, American Thinker, JohnGaltFla, Denninger, 321Gold, HumanEvents, even Rush and more. Forget Beck, he sold out a long time ago. Oh, and Survivalblog, a must. John Wesley Rawles has a good head on his shoulders.
In closing, I agree. The warriors and intellectual giants of old Mass would disown these people who usurped their dreams of the future and turned them to fecal matter.
Purely disgusting and shameful. Let us remind them of their heritage at every opportunity. At least a few will waken, and that makes a difference.

And remember, this is the same state where they blow LiteBrites and DOT traffic counters.
Argh. ...blow UP LiteBrites and traffic counters.
Then again, it is Mass...
