Not, apparently, in Indiana. [Read]

But apparently in Nevada. [Read]

Georgia also doesn't allow officers carte blanch authority to search cars because there's a gun in the vehicle.

See State v. Jones (2008) on GeorgiaPacking.org.

I can hear Officer Friendly now:

Mr. Jones... now you just lay down there and I'm gonna stand on yer neck for "officer safety". Now don't you worry none, this is for both your and my safety. I'll feel much better if I'm standing on yer neck while WE conduct OUR business here, ok? I promise, if everything is in order, I'll allow you to put yer clothes back on and put yer things back in yer pockets when I'm done. Until then, you're just gonna have to deal with a little bit of discomfort. I just want to go home to my family at the end of my shift. You do support Law Imposement...don't you?
