A state trooper who wanted to stop animals from climbing on his vehicles trapped his neighbor's 5-month-old kitten and shot it to death. [More]I'd say that's a character indicator...
Wish I had sound mixing skills--I think the "Meow Mix" jingle with machine gun fire and explosives in the background would make an appropriate accompaniment to this...

Oh my crying Christ, they have gotten so used to "fear for my life" being the get out of jail free card that now they think it will hold up when they kill a five month old kitten.
This man is not only unfit morally to serve as a cop due to his character flaws, but he is unfit mentally to try such a stupid ploy. I am usually in favor of everybody being armed, but this man has proven that is more responsibility than he responsibly wield. His firing needs to be upheld and he needs to be barred from ever again possessing any,ANY, tool with the power to maim and/or kill.
Rough on his family, but they can leave the sonofabitch and improve their lives and retain their rights, but in a just world this man has proven untrustworthy and should not be trusted with anything of consequence.
Morally unfit, mentally incompetent is not a good combination in any man but it is intolerable in men granted extra powers of law enforcement.
Kittens are the new attack animal of choice for drug lords. No one should expect a grown man to defend himself against a death dealing kitten without shooting it.
Several years ago a friend and I had returned to my home from a day of shooting at the black powder gun club. We were on the front porch scrubbing our rifle barrels with hot water and soap when a neighbor of mine returned home from work. As my neighbor approached his front door up ran a new puppy that they had recently brought home. My neighbor started to kick the living shit out of the dog. Well, I jumped up with the hot .54 cal barrel in my hand and ran over to the fence of my neighbors yard. I told this sonofabitch straight up that if he ever touched that dog again that I was going to wrap the barrel of my rifle around his skull. My neighbor, being a deputy sheriff in full uniform, did not appreciate me standing up for this tiny animal. He attempted to exchange a few words with me but I believe that my anger was more than what he wanted to deal with. I was pissed off and I meant every word that fell out of my mouth and he knew it!! Within a week or so he and his family moved out. Maybe to seek out a more secluded spot to inflict pain onto others?? Who knows.
I could care less what state sponsored terrorist uniform that is worn. When you start messing with the innocent then you have crossed the line. Kill my cats or my dogs and you will see the gates of hell!!!

Now that he's been fired, is he going to kill the owner for complaining and getting him fired? If someone can shoot a kitten, can you assume they won't shoot someone who "done them wrong"?
I hope Mrs. Neighbor is careful.
Character indicator indeed. It usually indicates a budding psycho-killer.
Dude looks spooky...

How soon before "Sir Elite Trooper" escalates to unarmed civilians?
If that's the way they want to play it, the civilians won't stay unarmed.
Foolish, of course, on their part.
