Americans armed themselves to the teeth and paid through the nose to have a smoke, according to a U.S. government report released on Wednesday. [More]Yeah, people were buying more guns plus the per-stick cigar tax went through the damn roof.
It still won't be enough. It never is.

The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, the federal agency concerned with tracking taxes on alcohol, tobacco and firearms -- not collecting and enforcing, just tracking -- has a budget of almost $100 million.
And the budget and salaries of the welfare bureaucracy would, if distributed to the poor, nearly eliminate poverty, it has been said.
Now I expect there'll be a whole new bureacracy to make sure we pay our carbon taxes.
Even if we don't re-elect anybody, it'll take decades to slim down this all-devouring hog.
If they cut "essentials", GREAT! That means more freedom for us. Unfortunately, most of the voters ARE cattle, and will easily be stampeded into more taxes and slavery.
