We're the Only Ones Pitted Enough

An ATF agent is being tried for murder in the U.S. Virgin Islands in a case that has pitted local cops against federal agents, and caused furious U.S. law enforcement authorities to withhold help from local police while crime and gun violence in the popular tourist destination continue to climb. A lot of DoJ guys are going to bat for the guy, but I keep coming back to you or I would have been mandated disarmed...and they only seem to care when it's one of their own.

I've actually had some emails and docs on this case for a few weeks, including a court transcript, and was thinking of doing a Gun Rights Examiner column on it with a Scribd embed.

Just gotta find the time...

I can think of nothing that demonstrates the unworthiness of our law enforcement community more than this.

Interesting. This shooting incident might actually be a justifiable homicide. And, then again … the Virgin Island prosecutor (word twister) just might be able to convince a judge and jury that the BATFu deserves whatever punishment is prescribed for murder in the Virgin Islands.

I can’t help but think this Virgin Island deal is an example of poetic justice. How many times have the BATF and their word twisters managed to convince a federal judge to sentence someone, who engaged in what he thought was an innocent activity, to prison? How many times has BATF walked away from a government sponsored homicide with no sanctions what-so-ever? Olafson, Emerson, Ruby Ridge and Waco come to mind immediately.

If this was an ordinary permit holder, who'd shot a neighbor's violent significant other, after said violent SO came at him with a Maglight, we'd be calling this a clear case of justified self-defense.
