It is very difficult to comment on this story without envisioning getting myself into to some sort of legal trouble for making a threat of some kind, although I can promise you that there is not one ounce of "threat" in these words...
If anyone tries to force a needle into my body against my will for any reason, there most certainly will be blood, and it won't be all mine.

They tried this sort of thing in Dallas. It was a giant flop. Several judges no-showed for their shifts, they couldn't find people qualified to actually take the blood, and even then, about half the people tested showed less than the legal limit.

Now, they talk about doing them here in Dallas, but they don't actually do it. They talk about it because they think that people will just decide not to drink and drive if they think it might happen.

They do the same thing with "warrant round ups" around here. They make a big deal on the news about how they are sending out a "task force" to go get scofflaws with outstanding traffic tickets. They arrest a grand total of like five guys, and call it a day. Why? Because about 10K extra people come in peeing their pants to pay some old ticket voluntarily.

They can hold you in jail for 15 days for refusing an exam to determine you blood alcohol content, and a blood alcohol content above 0.0 is a violation.
We're catching up.
Will the National Guard be providing overwatch for these catchall guilty-until-proven-sober checkpoints?
