Officer Barbagiovanni, you seem like a descent human being. Take a long look at your predicament and ask yourself, "Am I playing for the right team?"
The people who have contempt for you, also have contempt for the rest of us. They, however expect you to do their bidding.
In addition to reconsidering his employment choices, this guy needs to go back to CPR class. Things have changed.
On the other hand, I dealt with vomit and everything else, up front and personal, for 30 years in nursing. Never once thought about needing my employer to "back me up" with some kind of compensation. If I did my job right, and followed my training, I was very unlikely to have a problem. And I never did.
And, on a third hand... it would most likely be impossible to isolate where some "infectious disease" came from for it to connect solidly to this incident anyway. Sort of sounds like he might have been trying to set up a guarantee that NOBODY could make honestly.
Costing the city money isn't in the job description but for his pay and jumbo retirement. Doing something other than, bring in money from ticket scams and feeding the criminal justice system with non-violent people so the parasites of that system have job security is a no, no.
Seemingly this guy isn't very bright. Look at all the roid boys with the Rambo Commando haircuts and the 85 to 95 IQ's understand that.
Maybe a refreshing trip to the academy would wise this cop up a little bit.
