I'd like to see him use his smug sense of relevance to the debate on someone willing to slap his cheek or worse, that is, someone who initiates force as a matter of self-interest and without giving it one second of moral evaluation. Such creatures do exist, you know. All over the damn place.
I doubt it would be an NRA member, but possibly hilarity would ensue. Or maybe not.

Did you read the comments? I think the people there are a great representation of everything that is wrong with our country today. Way too much blasphemous blather for me.
Purely as a hypothetical situation, some of those folks need a good beat down all the while being asked, "don't you wish you'd had a gun?"

Oh I don't know, Jay--since you publicly ridicule defensive gun use, I'd be interested to see your superior alternative in action against truly dangerous characters. Hey, if you know what you're talking about, think of all the lives you could save and converts you could gain.
Forget about it David. We both know he has no alternative to responsible self defense. He is just another coward who is too afraid to defend himself and too embarrassed by his own fear to stand by and allow others to defend themselves. He'd be pathetic and pitiable if he weren't actively working to deprive people of their right to self defense. This is where he crosses over the line into true evil, though he would never admit responsibility for the murder or maiming of those he would disarm.
So - whiners about defensive use of firearms (DUF) call who, exactly, when it hits the fan? Maybe - Men With Guns?
So most actually believe in guns and won't hesitate to call in others to "protect" them.
Others, like, I suspect Bookman, who believe that self-defense is not a natural, God-given right, and belittle the theory, will choose to negotiate with whomever is threatening them.
After all, they believe that self-defense isn't a God-give right for homo sapiens - just for any OTHER animal on this earth. That's why we see zebras negotiating with crocodiles, for instance...
