We're the Only Ones Luring Enough

Prosecutors have charged a New Jersey police officer with attempted aggravated sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl he met while assisting her family in an unrelated police matter. [More]

How very helpful of him.

And once more into the breach with the Eternal Question...

The comments are very telling. The true peace officers are all hoping this scumbag is raped multiple times in prison. One even offered $20 to the first inmate to make him his bitch.

I have always had respect for the good cops.* Then there are ones like this that tend to give them all a bad name. I think they should turn him over to the family and let them do with him as they please.

The suggestion by one of the commenter's involving a nail, a stump and a rusty knife was a classic.

* I guess I have been lucky that in all my years I have never met a bad cop.

This is where I have to disagree with you--people in custody should never be subject to rape or physical assault--that's a total failure on the part of those having legal custody. The fact that it is not only tolerated but expected encourages a covert method of compliance enforcement and punishment that corrupt guards can extract totally outside of any auditable disciplinary procedures.

There is no such thing as "justifiable rape", under any circumstances. Some would confuse justice with "eye for eye" revenge.

Now I am starting to sound like Michael Dukakis:

Don't get me wrong. I don't condone the forcible rape of people either. I was just commenting on what other cops were saying.

In a way it's hard to blame them. Most are trying to live up to their oaths and some asshat with a badge sullies their profession. Of course too many of the good ones turn a blind eye toward the bad. That in itself in my opinion is a shame.
