I was all thumbs up on this until the end, when he says the solution is to increase the ATF excise tax to pay for "Only Ones" Praetrorian Guards.  How about we just end the damn "gun free zones" and recognize the right of the people to keep and bear arms?

There are two mindsets in action here. One is for more government, more restrictions on citizens (the opposite of liberty) and more taxes to pay for the higher expense of government. The other is less government, less restrictions on citizens (more liberty) and less taxes to pay for the lesser expense of government. If you do not trust yourself to act responsibly and presume that others will act less responsibly than you, then you possess the first mindset. Otherwise, you possess the second mindset. Which mindset do you prefer?

If you expect all adults to take responsibility for the safety of themselves and those in their care by arming themselves and to be proficient with those arms, then you possess the second mindset. You will oppose any unnecessary government restrictions to this end. There is no need for extra taxation to effect this goal. Current levels of taxation (or less) could be better utilized to provide training instructors, facilities and ammunition. Government should work with and for the citizens, not against the citizens.
