Not sure how I feel about this, except to say that the cops were too quick to shoot. Yet this time the gun looked realistic enough that they understandably perceived a threat. After all, that was a 12-year-old who shot up that school in Nevada. And the PDRK just passed a ban on open carry of long guns, so the stop was within the law, bad as these laws are. In the end, I just don't know enough about this to judge these two. And that's not to say that there aren't abuses under color of law; there are plenty of those. It's why I generally distrust cops.

As reported, the deputies saw the kid at -10 seconds. At -7 they called for backup. By 0 the kid was down with two lethal shots in his side.

Ten seconds from noticing the kid to killing him, and you're "not sure"? You usually do better than this.
