Assuming this story is actually as reported, she would have been within her rights to use lethal force to stop him. Had she done so, what are the odds they'd have left her free and then announced it was justified and within established protocols, as opposed to hauling her off, ensuring bail was unattainable and then prosecuting her with intent to extract maximum revenge?
And had they just offed her instead of hauling her off, who would bet against it being deemed a good shoot?
