Tackling the Solution, Not the Problem

Another guy who blames the gun, and not the actions of the person with one... [More]

The incident lends itself to a discussion on the need to keep concealed carry discreet, and then on the value open carry can have on "normalizing" the sight of armed citizens.  It also shows that no one is immune to a surprise attack when they don't know they are being targeted -- even had the armed victim here been in "condition yellow," the circumstances shown in the video make it unlikely he'd have had time to defend himself, and based on the motives of the attacker and the ultimate outcome, he's probably relieved he did not respond with lethal force.

Appears Foster has a fear of an object. I have a friend like that... put a gun on a table and she runs out of the room (even if it is in pieces being cleaned). It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

More people are killed by cars yet people don't seem to be afraid of them and they are far more lethal.

David, I would politely modify your sentence to read as follows:

"It also shows that no one is immune to a surprise attack when they don't know they are being stalked -- even had the armed victim ..."

I regard the "hero" as a stalker, and perhaps the police should treat him as such.
