The Point is to Abolish the Edicts

The BATFE is an obscenity, and I want it gone, but first, I want the obscenities it exists to enforce abolished. [More]
Kurt's latest JPFO Alert explains why, barring that, it's more advantageous to keep the devil we know than to divvy up his duties among those more capable of hiding what they're up to and what they've done.

I agree with Kurt. It would be a good bit easier to repeal the regulations and gun laws that afflict us with the BATFE still in place. With their reputation and proven ethical issues, it would be far simpler to dismantle the structure of gun control.

I also agree with him and others that the FBI is so deeply entrenched, in such a powerful position as the premier law enforcement agency in the country that forcing it to behave would be much more difficult.

let's face it: if we couldn't raise any objections in Congress when they murdered ~78 men, women, and _children_, burning them like the Nazis burned so many, how tough would it be to force them to change how the gun control laws are enforced?

Keep the BATFE - just castrate it so it is impotent.

The point is the whole original GCA 68 'armor piercing' pistol ammo determination is a nonsense.

Plus the 1986 'exemption' for a projectile which does not conform to the definition in law is also erroneous and falacious.

It goes further back to far more fundamental flaws than just the present silliness ...
