"Controversial" to Whom?

In the wake of the deadly massacre at an Oregon community college, the controversial Oath Keepers militia group revealed a new plan last week to prevent school shootings, announcing its intention to form college and high school chapters to train students to “fight back.” [More]
First of all, it's not a "militia group."

Second, they're only doing what's been proven to work under fire.

And lastly, what's with ending the article giving SPLC the last word?  How the HELL can a group centered around the oath its members take to the Constitution be  characterized by anyone but an Opposite Day "progressive" liar as "anti-government," and why did the "reporter" not see fit to question that?
