Virginia Senate passes bill to keep police officers’ names secret [More]We could tell you, but then we'd have to kill you. After all, if it's a "law," authoritah can use an up-to-lethal escalation of force to make sure it's obeyed.
Brought to you by John Cosgrove, Jr., a "law and order Republican."
Plus he's endorsed!
How did the slogan go? Oh, yeah:
Vote freedom first![Via Mack H]

As amended, the bill would make secret ...
"The names and training records of law-enforcement officers"
So, all training records would be secret as well.
After all, wouldn't want to contradict any LEO who asserts:
"I am the only one in this room professional enough to have a gun."
Doesn't that precisely define "Secret Police"?
I'm for open records - but I'm for privacy too. I hate to say it but police can be reached by department subpoena and should not have to face the added "perk" of having angry stupid criminal pricks showing up at the house and bothering or surveiling the wife and kids to satisfy their juvenile / Criminal revenge desires
That said, I also believe that the public at large should know where .gov employees live as a check on anonymous authority - in the event things go sparky any .gov employee should FEEL the same insecurity as the general population .........maybe more so. Maybe they should feel like targets
