Passing along Fake Quotes, Rumors and Hoaxes Only Helps Gun-grabbers

It’s being circulated not just by those who know it’s a hoax, but also by well-meaning gun owners who are nonetheless helping to spread two falsehoods in one post.  And the thing is, it takes less than a minute to debunk both quotes, simply by putting them into a search engine. [More]
Leave the lying and the self-delusion to the gun-grabbers. We have to be about the truth.

Here, I'll fix it for them:
When government takes away citizens' right to bear arms it becomes citizens' duty to take away government's right to govern.

Now I have said it, so it is a real quote. That's the funny thing about quotes. It matters less who said it than it does whether it is true.

That being said... "citizen" is a fancy word for slave which makes slaves feel good about their situation.
Rights can never be taken away- they can be respected or violated. Period.
Government can have no rights at all, ever, because rights are only inherent in individuals.
But other than that... LOL

It does matter who said it in the sense that when the quote is attributed incorrectly, the veracity and intelligence of the poster are both instantly called into question. We are handing the enemy weapons with which to bludgeon us as ignorant fools.

I agree completely that blindly posting garbage like that is counterproductive.

So, instead of attributing it at all, claim it as your own.

People attribute phony quotes to historically prominent people because it gives the opinion an air of authority.

Saying, “Kent McManigal said this” doesn’t really measure up.

So say "I, Henry, say this." Or ask someone whom you believe will be taken seriously whether they agree, and get it from them in writing if they do. Attribute it to David Codrea, if he agrees with the quote. That is good enough for anyone who matters.
"Historically prominent people" are no better, and certainly no wiser.

I get in enough trouble with my own words. Besides, in the scheme of things, I'm nobody. I doubt anyone outside RKBA agitation activism has even heard of me. Even most gun owners have no idea who I am.
