I Wouldn't Bet on It

The gay rights movement could take on the NRA — and actually win [More]
Let's see, one of their conflicted own dispatches as he pleases with a hundred+ of them, killing half... how is this going to work again?

Or are these dreamers under the impression that all they have to do is pass a law and we'll all surrender and obey -- instead of telling them to shove it up their...?

Ain't gonna happen anyway.  That community, 2% despite "popular culture" trying to make it seem a lot bigger -- is divided, and the smarter ones understand that civil liberties are all connected.

Now that's funny, especially in light of Erin Palette's 'Project Blazing Sword' (encouraging LGBT members to learn to defend themselves, and locating trainers to get them there).

I think chances are better that the NRA's going to pick up some FABULOUS new members... and that doesn't bother me one damned bit. :D

I can easily see the LGBTetc. crowd out lobbying then NRA and getting some truly draconian federal law passed. What then? What makes them think gun owners here will be more likely to comply with an order disarming them than the Aussies were? IMS, the Australian disarmament legislation was at best 40% effective. Even taking 40% (and I truly doubt such a law would even be THAT effective) of LEGALLY OWNED GUNS away would still leave 60% - THREE OUT OF FIVE! - of currently lawfully owned guns still out there. And that still does nothing about all the various types of guns currently in the hands of people who cannot - LAWFULLY - own guns at all. I, for one would not want to be on the details attempting to round up suddenly unlawful guns.

Are these folks so stupid as to honestly believe passing a law will effect that sort of change?
