Coalition of the Willing

Led by Chris Cox, with Allan Cors, Susan Howard... ? [More]

Anybody see any red-meaters on the list, with a track record of standing up to NRA when appropriate, or are we looking at a group we need to watch lest it feel compelled to make due process concessions -- as has been tried in the past by some of our "leaders" -- using "mental health" and "terrorism" as excuses?

And what kind of influence, oversight and feedback provisions will exist? Or will we find out when everything's a done deal? If these fine folks have ostensibly been selected to represent "us," you'll forgive me if I question why and how, and retain a degree of skepticism.  Who nominated them? Who decided they were acceptable? Because I didn't select them to represent me, see some who have given cause for great concern in the past, and others whose ability and inclination to do so are unknown.

It is a hopeful start that Trump even considered doing this -- I'm not putting that down. It's a hell of a lot more than any other president has ever offered us, and props for that. BUT... two open eyes are needed just as much as an open mind.

That and the "plain and simple" purpose of 2A they're focusing on ain't so plain and simple.

I see a crapload of names that mean nothing to me. Where are the Guras, the Volokhs, the Klecks, the Cramers? Every one of those is worth ten of the sitting poliicians this group seens overly loaded with.
