Earlier this year, according to Schmidt, the NRA approached USCCA to talk about partnering to create a program that looks a lot like what the larger group is now marketing as Carry Guard. That's in line with information I had when I wrote my first piece on this but did not elaborate on. It's not uncommon to have more raw "intel" than is disclosed in a story due to different levels of corroboration for different elements. There is more on what was done to Second Call Defense as well that has not been made public -- yet.

I hope people at the Annual Meeting give NRA an earful.
