More Blood on NRA's Hands

Booker was playing with his loaded .45 caliber handgun by racking the slide back and forth with his finger on the trigger. After emptying the magazine from the gun, Booker pulled the trigger as the gun was pointed toward the victim. The gun fired and Clark was struck. [More]
Keep your Booker hook off the bang switch?

So, let's blame the organization which certifies the gun safety instructors whom the shooter didn't take lessons from, but would have taught him how not to be a dangerous idiot if they had the opportunity?

Passive voice again. It's weak and sloppy language.

"...Booker pulled the trigger as the gun was pointed toward the victim. The gun fired and Clark was struck"?

No. The only correct part of that word salad is that Booker pulled the trigger. The gun didn't point its own self at Clark or make its own choice to fire, and the bullet didn't decide to strike Clark of its own volition.

How about, "Booker pointed the gun toward the victim and pulled the trigger, firing the gun and striking Clark"?

Much more accurate.

But Booker is an "Only One", and we know "Only Ones" don't EVER fire their guns or shoot people, good or bad. According to the media, their guns "are fired" -- when they don't "discharge" or "go off" -- and the victims "are struck" all the time.

Archer: First five paragraphs dead on.

Where'd you get the idea Booker is an "Only One"?

FedUp,

I believe David is facetiously parroting a typical big corporate media headline by titling with the words repeatedly heard from emoting "progressive" collectivists and national-international socialists speaking to reporters on the idiot box.

I realized Dave was being sarcastic, but I (wrongly) assumed the linked article blamed the NRA and it was an article I hadn't even read that I was making fun of.

I didn't realize it was an honest news item, and not some 'blame the gun' piece in Salon or HuffPo.

There really have been serious attempts to blame the NRA for both criminal activities and negligent discharges committed by those with absolutely no relationship to the NRA, but it was wrong of me to assume this was one of them.

His gun handling skills???

I guess I wasn't the only one to comment before reading linked article.
Hey, Archer, what's that crow taste like? Wanna trade for mine?
