The article is garbage and unworthy of a publication that includes the word “Scientific” (or “American”) in its title. [More]Right. Anybody who disagrees with the monopoly of violence cultists or believes in the right to keep and bear arms is a paranoid racist. It's settled science! Just ask "progressive" sociologists.

Its a variation of the "big but" IMHO. Lots of people are unsure of their family's safety. It's OK. Lots of people are insecure in their jobs. That's OK too. But these gun owners are RACISTS. They're EVIL!

For use as a trump card, the epithet "Nazi" has been overplayed and worn out. People have begun to discount any argument where it is used. Much like "gun control" has been replaced by "gun safety", the "Nazi" trump card has been replaced by "racist".
