Hey good post guys, except that the receiver of an FN FAL (which is the gun actually depicted in this article, not an H&K G3), is steel. The receiver of an AR-15 is aluminum. So cutting aluminum with an oxy-acetylene torch, as you instruct, is going to result in splattering molten aluminium all over the place, instead of cleanly cutting through a ferrous metal, as an oxy-acetylene torched is designed to. Hopefully no one is injured a result of this plainly un-researched article, and if they are, I hope they have the sense to sue Rolling Stone for providing them with these instructions. Way to contribute to the uninformed static of the pro-gun control narrative. This is journalism as its best. “But there are too many Common Sense Gun Laws already, and it’s impossible for a person to know when he’s violating Common Sense!”
