A Dire Place in History

Jodie Foster Speaks Out on Current State of Gun Control: ‘We Are At a Dire Place in History’ [More]
Lady, you don't know the half of it. That's when the Founders deemed we'd need arms the most.

And "robots"? Her solution is these?

I guess she needs to hit on some hot button issues to generate some buzz for the "total garbage" she's out there hawking.

Jodie Foster: She's not a  smart person but she plays one in the movies.

‘We Are At a Dire Place in History' -- Jodie Foster

'America is at that awkward stage; it's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.' -- Claire Wolfe

Interesting that they would both come to the same logical place yet have such diverging ideas on what to do about it.

Here is an example of what the Founders thought of gun control over 250 years ago:

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms…. disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes… such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” Cesare Beccaria “On Crimes and Punishment”, quoted by Thomas Jefferson in his “Legal Commonplace Book”
