Check out the salaries paid to police chiefs across the St. Louis region [More]Some of them aren't as much as I'd presumed they'd be, making me wonder about expense, insurance, pension, investment and other perks not reported here.
I also wonder if there's a one of them not pursuing a political agenda that can only result in more fail...

These guys are poverty cases compared to most police chiefs and sheriffs in California. Most of them are paid in the $200-300K range. Even a Highway Patrolman right out of the academy is making $100K, plus overtime.
What bugs me most is that they're exempt from many of California's gun laws.
