Missing the Point

The offer the President announced today is a loser for the forgotten American workers who were central to his campaign promises. An amnesty-for-wall trade would once again reward previous immigration lawbreakers without preventing future immigration lawbreakers. This kind of amnesty deal will incentivize more caravans, more illegal border crossers and more visa overstayers at the expense of the most vulnerable American workers who have to compete with the illegal labor force. Do you guys really think that's the greatest danger?

So far, I believe his made his offer knowing full well P&S would never accept it. Instead, the few 'moderates' who are left might dissent from the Left.

Operation Chaos perhaps.

We'll see.

And then there's that little promise Congress made to the American people as part of the compromise that got Simpson-Mazzoli passed and signed into law in 1986, that promise being that a one time amnesty would be granted to cover the 8 million illegals then in the country in exchange for securing the border and creating the E-Verify system and making it mandatory.

The only part ever fully enacted was the "one time" amnesty.

Ask any Native-American what a Congressional promise is worth.

Didn't Reagan fall for this same ruse? Still waiting for that wall.
