Let me play devil's advocate here. Yes. Enforce the laws. Let's take drug laws as an example: let's really enforce them evenly, not only among the poor. Let's see how long this lasts once college-bound Buffy's Lilly-white ass winds up doing hard time in federal prison. Get the movers and shakers riled up over "equal protection under the law" and the law WILL change.
Some poor, black ghetto kid's in the slammer? Not my problem.
