Scaring the Republicans

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and members of his caucus are tiptoeing toward legislation addressing gun violence amid deep anxiety over eroding GOP support in suburbs across the country. Expanded background checks and other modest proposals to address gun violence have strong support among swing voters in the suburbs, whom McConnell sees as crucial to keeping control of Republican-held swing Senate seats. That because they're not doing their jobs and explaining the right to keep and bear arms to their constituents in a way the media, including The Hill, will not. This is dealing with effects, not the cause.

All those words and not once does this explore how much the poll respondents actually understand the issues they're being asked to weigh in on.

Speaking of which, if Alexander Bolton is going to presume to be the arbiter of which Intolerable Acts are "moderate," he should change his title from"Senior Reporter" to"Senior Editorialist" and move this transparent manipulation job into the "Opinion" section.
