An Empty Case

Michael Bloomberg ... The conservative case for him: He has been a Republican in the past, and despite his excesses he did keep crime low in New York. His mayoral administration also advanced the cause of welfare reform. Like it or not, he’s probably the closest thing to an actual GOPer in the running, even if he is most definitely not a Republican of the libertarian variety. [More]
What can I say but "National Review"?

Pros: Adolph Hitler saved Germany from turning communist after the collapse of the Wiemar republic. He was also instrumental in developing the modern all weather road system known as the Autobahn. His stimulus spending both rebuilt the German Army and jump started the German recovery from the Great Depression.

Cons: He violated a number of treaties including the Versailles Treaty and the Molotov Ribbentrop Pact.
