They can also bypass background checks if they buy their firearms at a gun show. [More]Really, Terry Tang of the Associated Press? There's no further explanation or qualification you'd like to add to that, or has your job been done here?
I like the partisan Democrat who says it shouldn't be partisan. All we need to do is surrender and vote like him. Every time.
And note the "former Democratic congressional candidate who is black" doesn't seem very eager to talk about who is killing those 15 black people a day but would rather focus on disenfranchising those who aren't.

Things must be rough at AP when a reporter is expected to cover the story AND take his own photos. In the old days events would be covered by a team of two or three.
Here is the actual text of the "contentious" article that was stricken from the resolution before the vote:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors will not authorize or appropriate government funds, resources, employees, agencies contractors, buildings, detention centers or officers for the purpose of enforcing laws that unconstitutionally infringe on the people’s right to keep and bear arms.
This is the resolution which Democrat Sheriff Penzone (Sheriff Joe's replacement) opposed because "It was potentially in conflict with current law enforcement operations and our ability to keep the community safe from persons who seek to do harm."
What???
He further went on to muddy his tracks by saying, "Denying, ignoring or refusing to recognize and apply the laws as they are written is not within the authority of law enforcement professionals. Terms such as Second Amendment Preservation or ‘Sanctuary’ become an excuse to circumvent the law and defy due process and democracy. We must adhere to the Constitution when it meets our principles and values, and as importantly when it is in conflict. This is the basis of a nation founded in respect for the rule of law."

Penzone clearly fails to realize that the very purpose of constitutional rights is to "defy democracy."
That boy bears watching.
