How Did I Miss This?

Published last January:
Writing in AmmoLand about the end-of-year spike in Chicago murders, Codrea, who has won multiple awards for his reporting on the sanctity of the Second Amendment, blamed the murders on “feral thugs.”
It almost sounds like they have a problem with that.

You're all going to think this post is wildly off topic, but beat with it for just a bit.

In an episode of "Dog Whisperer", Cesar Millan helps former MTV star "Downtown" Julie Brown unspoil her Yorkie. He is in the process of explaining to her the basics of integrating a dog into a human "pack" and beginning to explain corrections she needs to make in her behavior when Brown interrupts with "Wait a minute! You're acting like this is my fault!".

Here's the tie in "money shot."

Millan responds, "Well, who's fault did you think it was?"

Chicago's city fathers need to ask themselves that very question. At any time, the Mayor could call in the Chief of Police and say, "you have 72 hours to get these thugs off of our streets or I guarantee you that your replacement will."

And that would be the beginning of the end of Chicago's ongoing street crime problem.

The city government merely needs to acknowledge that their inaction and blame shifting are the primary causes of the problem, pull up their big boy (or girl) pants and do the primary job that they were elected to do: to make the streets safe for the residents of the city to go about their lives in peace.

My bet is it will never happen. Liberals just don't think that way.

P.S. I have no idea if Ms. Brown ever got her dog to behave either.

I'm always happy to segue the discussion into a relevant Cesar Milan example.
