You gotta wonder -- if government ignores its most basic obligations, what the hell do we need it for and why shouldn't it be altered or abolished?

Obviously, we need it to punish the law-abiding people who protect themselves from the criminals from whom they failed to protect us in the first place. In the government, that's known as the Circle of Life.
