That college exercise is a thinly veiled variation of push polling.
Push polling is wen a pollster crafts a question, not to get yur opinion on a topic, but to insert an idea into your head.
An example would be: "Would you still vote for candidate X, knowing that they were once charged with child molestation?"
Hey, I say if they want to out themselves now, it saves us valuable time and effort.
