Well, the BATFE has history of charging machine tool owners with gun-related offenses because they could, you know, actually make a gun.

No. Not kidding.

So punishing a 3D printer dude for potentially being able to print a 3D gun is not too far fetched for the incompetent panty-wearing retards at the BATFE.
