Conservatives Embracing Tulsi Gabbard Ignore Her Totalitarian Demands on Guns

“Conservative” media outlets are happy to bring their viewers and readers statements from Gabbard they can agree with, and then form positive opinions that she’s somehow a “good Democrat.” No doubt she had made some declarations we can all agree with, but there’s one other common factor all such stories seem to share: None of them also reveal that she is a citizen disarmament extremist. Our "friends," whether they're "across the aisle" or not, don't want to disarm us.

We generally see only those things that we wish to see.

Gabbard's positions are contradictory but neither the talking heads nor most information consumers have a desire to look beyond the throw away nods to liberty.

One might ask the photogenic Ms. Gabbard how her opposition to acquisition, possession and use of personal arms squares with her well pimped opposition to other democrat socialist goals. But that might cause a bit of squirming and that would not encourage her to return to a particular talking head's show.

Carlson comes across as a petulant frat boy rather than a serious examiner of our current situation. But then I'm probably a violent neanderthal nutball or something.

Ms. Gabbard is a prime example of why I like two of my favorite quotes.

"Its always something" -- Gilda Radner

"Show me a hero and I'll show you a bum." -- Col. Greg "Pappy" Boyington, USMC

Bottom line, if you've found a perfect politician, one who agrees with you on every issue, you are probably overlooking something. It's seriously part of Murphy's Law.

So it is important to narrow down your criteria to what really matters and go with that. Take it from one who used to be a constituent of an NRA "F" rated Republican.
