A Difference in Outlook

Oklahoma police chief speaks at funeral of Blair teen killed by his officers in shootout [More]

I can't help but wonder if the family's and the surrounding community's reaction would be the same if...

And couldn't the officers have fired into the air or her leg or something...?

David,

Everything you said here is exactly how I see it.

It is really inspiring to see grownups still exist.

Thank God.

A regrettable but timely and appropriate answer to Ibram Racist Kendi's question about Ma'Khia Bryant:

"So when I look at that video, I ask myself, if that would have been a 16-year-old white girl in a wealthy suburban neighborhood, would the police officer have sought to disarm this girl? Would the police officer have sought to talk her down? Would the police officer -- would have used lethal force?"

Not only that, Kendi, but the white girl's family had the class to reject "Dindu mode" entirely.

Brings to mind that song from 1966 by the Bobby Fuller Four, "I fought the law and the law won".
