The keyword here is "committed." The grabbers talk about "extreme right circles, numerous militias, white supremacists, and other fringe groups [translation: Republicans/gun owners] openly discuss[ing] acts of violence."
They're not the ones openly committing it with headline-making regularity.

It's just the standard cop tradeoff -- so much safer to arrest someone who will talk about shooting you than someone who will shoot you.
