House Judiciary Republicans write to ATF about them attempting to assign themselves the authority to redefine what a firearm is in order to facilitate banning them. [More]
I don't expect it to actually stop anything because they're in the minority. Just like I don't expect citizen comments to sway anyone bent on enabling tyranny.
That said, I urge you to submit yours anyway. I fear someday we will need to look at our loved ones and honestly tell them we did what was in our power to do in order to resolve things non-catastrophically.

"Because?"
When they're in the majority, they still can't stop anything.
The Third Reich kept meticulous documentation on the atrocities they committed. If you've ever stood in line and seen a number tattooed on the arm of an elderly Jew you've seen the horror of "The Final Solution" first hand.
They made and kept those records for two reasons:
1. They were Germans. Germans tend to be meticulous record keepers on everything.
2. They never expected to lose, or to be held accountable for their crimes against humanity.
Now roll forward to Harry Reid throwing away the filibuster on judicial appointments, the Steele Dossier, Fast and Furious, and so forth.
What was the Left thinking? Like the Third Reich, they never expected to lose. They never expected to be held accountable. But in a case of political premature ejaculation, they acted just a bit too soon. But not by much.
Take a look at the southern border and you will see a Democratic permanent majority under construction. Within the next 9 months, every one of those "family units" will have produced at least one "anchor baby" guaranteeing their family permanent residence in the USA. Whether or not there is another "comprehensive immigration reform" amnesty, the passage of time will turn their descendants into voters. You can bet the party of John Boehner and Paul Ryan will do nothing to stop that from happening.
Which party to you think they will vote for?
