A sociopathic scientist.

What a depressing read.

I have a question that nobody appears to be asking.

How did she get the bear urine?

I stopped reading when I got to the part about boiling bear urine so she could drink it. I don’t even want to know how she collected the urine.

"How did she get the bear urine?"
Good question.

As she was walking up a dry creek bed in a desperate search for water
(Shasta Lake was 'downstream' less than a mile behind her)

she found small pools of water in the creek that she believed were tainted with bear urine
(apparently they teach you what bear urine looks and smells like in college)

which she then attempted to filter through a tea bag
(that's what I always do to purify water)

and when that failed she attempted to start a fire to boil the tainted water but the material she tried to light was 'too wet'
(in a period of historically low fuel moisture content, critical fire weather and during a red flag warning)

so she continued to head uphill
(which was the opposite direction from her Canada destination)

until she found the fire fighters that she had called for help.

I didn't make any of this up. These facts are as reliable as the mainstream sources that reported them during the last week.
If she's not a full blown psych case she's doing a great job of impersonating one.
