Strangers on a Train

A Woman Was Allegedly Assaulted On A Train As Bystanders Looked On. They Could Face Criminal Charges, Too, Police Say. [More]

So the police have no duty to protect the public but you do?

Even when they see stabbings in progress and hide?

UPDATE: If anybody is going to be charged it ought to be the Board of Immigration Appeals who decided not to deport an illegal already found guilty of a sex crime.

It's the Seinfeld Law. It's quite famous. Apparently to the point where some governments now believe it's real.

While there is a Latham, New York, there is no city, town or village Latham, Massachusetts or Latham County, Massachusetts. The Massachusetts Good Samaritan Law covers you from civil suit if you act reasonably to assist another in distress and things do not go well, but does not compel you to "do something". For example, if while performing CPR you break ribs, you cannot be successfully sued for that act. Civil suit can be brought, but it will be dismissed.
