Incentivized Journalists

#justabloggers need not apply.

For all the complaining Americans for Tax Reform does about Democrat spending, you'd think their boss would stop trying to import more.

"Pravda" in Russian roughly translates as "truth". "Izvestia" roughly translates as "news". Pravda and Izvestia were the USSR's leading newspapers. They were both organs of the state propaganda machine and published what they were told to publish. That led to an old joke popular in the USSR that went something like "There is no news in "Truth", and no truth in "News."

Blinded by their admiration of all things Soviet, our media doesn't seem to have gotten the joke and have adopted the saying as a business model.

So I'm not at all surprised that they are now asking for Soviet style subsidies.

Perhaps we'll get to see a 50's style horror flick titled "The Incredible Shrinking Newspaper" or a Rick Moranis comedy titled "Honey, I Shrunk CNN."
