Help Wanted, Inquire Within

Yesterday's Gun Rights Examiner report highlights a piece of the overall puzzle that is significant and legitimate for wider investigation. It's especially so as Janet Napolitano is, by all indications, remaining in the government and jockeying for even more power and influence.

So naturally, there's only one entry on a Google News search, and guess whose it is?

Widening the search with more general terms still yields no result--although we do see DHS OIG assigned a higher priority and had time to complete a report on the Secret Service prostitution scandal, even if they don't share the results on their website.

Here's the thing: Mike Vanderboegh and I can't do this by ourselves because we're just not big enough to get the stories noticed with any reliable frequency. I know we've had a few media opportunities, but comparatively, our pond is small. That's we we rely on our regular readers--those who perceive they get a regular value from our work--to help amplify our voices and spread the word.  I'm asking you to do that now.

Please share this link to yesterday's development with everyone you think will care, via emails, via social media, and especially share it with news websites, challenging them to do their own investigation.

What a blessing, to have enjoyed a lifetime of memories that resulted in my feeling this way.

So Romney pursued a tepid and uninspiring strategy easy for attack by the left, which conversely played a brilliantly dirty game by ginning up resentment many in the Democrat base feel toward “the rich” in general and Northeast capital investment elites in particular. It also meant Romney ducked addressing red meat visceral issues that would put fire in the belly of supporters—while many felt obliged to hold their noses and vote for him as the "lesser evil," that did not, and could not, translate into the type of enthusiastic commitments needed to win a championship.

Sure, if our "leaders" are inclined to observe the Constitution. Since when? They have been doing what they want all along and feel nothing but emboldened now, and the media will be backing them up every step of the way.

And bear in mind I specifically made a point to write: "But at this point, the likelihood of the treaty's passage is not the story" and then went on to explain what is.

My column isn't so much about the ATT as it is about a storm heading our way due to a "more flexible" willingness to exercise power by an arrogant ruler bent on revenge and now feeling unrestrained.

It's wonderful to see forums discussing this.  Just be careful to sort the hip shot opinions from the painstaking research.

As is typical more often than not, we know the name of the mom and the grandmother, and we even know the name of the three-year-old, but the the name of the badged pissant spraying all over those he has been given power over is somehow a state secret the Authorized Urinalists dare not divulge. At least it looks like the mayor and chief ended up reversing things as far as the ticket goes--but here's the thing: Not only is their unfixed dog out there throwing his authoritah around and bullying the people he's supposed to be serving, his "courtesy" of writing a $2,500 fine we learn about in the first link turns out to be utterly without merit under state law.

Protection of public employees being what it is these days, things are probably set up so they can't fire Barney Fife outright, but I'd say the public has a right to know who this menace to society is, and see what other examples of abuse they can pin on him--surely this can't be the first time he's whizzed on a citizen. At the least, people ought to be able to simulate taking a leak every time he passes by, and then point and laugh at the silly sumbich.

My Hotmail edress got hijacked and sent out what I must assume is a malware link to my address book.  Either that or someone is spoofing my email address.  I just changed my password and am doing a scan to see if anyone has gotten into my machine.

Shoot. I wish my parents and immigrant grandparents had known about that moral "out" back in the Depression.  Heck, I even qualified back in college, when I was renting a closet in a house where my bed touched three walls, working a minimum wage part-time job and going to school full time. 

What the Commie-in-Chief is saying is more than the moral equivalent of blaming rape victims for being attractive targets.  He's justifying savagery and evil.  He's approving it.

I know many on "our side" put the guy down for being provocative, and others are worried that it's not the right case at the right time and will set bad precedent, but really, since when are self-designated Second Amendment activists supposed to side with "Only Ones" taking any of the people hostage at gunpoint for simply bearing arms?

There's something to be said for knowing what limits the courts think can be imposed. You can't push them if you don't know exactly where they are.

You call for more "gun laws," make a point of telling everyone how law-abiding you are, and then turn around and tell us "Even if a business is posted, I carry anyway."

If the antis were really for "reasonable" background checks they'd be pushing for BIDS, which would allow for those without creating a purchase record. But what they're really interested in is that purchase record.

In the meantime, we don't need useful kapos ceding  ground in the guise of "staunch gun advocates."
