Just In Case You Don't Get Enough Email...
I don't maintain an email list because I just don't have time to administer one. I figure if people want my stuff they can come to me, otherwise it would be presumptuous to start spamming.
If you don't get enough email of the type you welcome, there's a simple "Follow By Email" gadget in the left sidebar -- put in your edress and hit "submit," and you'll get one email per day with all the posts -- with an "unsubscribe" option, of course.
There's also a "Contact" form directly under the "Follow" form in case you don't know my edress (dcodrea@hotmail.com) or know how to message me on social media.

So It IS About Duck Hunting!
“I’m a hunter,” Newsom told the union crowd when a man in the audience grumbled about his support for gun control. Newsom, who in his younger days shot lizards with a rifle on visits to his father’s place in the Sierra foothills, said he has hunted ducks and enjoys skeet shooting, but nonetheless supports background checks for gun owners. The hunting might surprise some of Newsom’s fans on Twitter, where he skewers the National Rifle Assn... [More]What kind of Fudd would buy that, and not know in his heart he was doing wrong?
Yeah, he "nonetheless suppports background checks." That and a bit more, right, "Contact Reporter" Michael Finnegan? Why minimize it that way?
That "Our Dishonest President" pop-up for The Times' six-part "editorial" series is almost funny. While arguably true, you would never see such an effort had Hillary won.
Hey, here's an "Authorized Journalist" challenge: He told the hammer and sick... uh ... arm and hammer crowd he's a hunter, present tense. He said he "might go ... for the first time this year" in November, 2015. Did he? When's the last time he pulled a license from Fish and Wildlife?
Think they'd tell me...? (I've written a PRA request and am waiting for legal feedback to see it it's feasible).
UPDATE-- And now I wait some more:

Note the criticism of the concept by the police trainer. You can learn more about his creds, and they are considerable, here.
Undoubtedly its deployment and capacity limitations make it less than ideal for all situations, but it would still be plenty better than nothing for many situations. Plus I just think it's kind of a neat idea, and obviously a labor of ingenuity and love. And there are a couple advantages I can think of:
There are many urban and commercial areas in "open carry" states, where bearing arms has not been normalized. And that's something to consider for gun owners who refuse to get a concealed carry "permit" out of principle (and are tired of putting themselves at "legal" risk by carrying anyway), and who wish to avoid the negative consequences of standing out in the crowd by wearing openly.
Plus, Chuck Schumer hates them.

It looks like all my old Examiner.com stuff, including all of the original Fast and Furious reports, is now being blocked from Wayback Machine retrieval "due to robots.txt."
I hope it's just a temporary glitch over at the Internet Archive. Otherwise, that's years of stuff that I often still need to refer to because it's the only documentation out there.
Yes, I still have Word documents, but those do not contain revisions or links added in the publishing tool on the journey from draft to final. It would literally take thousands of hours to reconstruct everything, a task I'll never be able to even attempt without giving up everything else.
I need to look into this, but not today. I need to focus on what's in front of me and channel the negativity (putting it mildly) I'm feeling over this into some serious workaround calculating.
God, those people were/are douchebags.

Big for Their Age
From The Gun Feed, via email:
May 2017 marks the four year anniversary of the launch of the firearm news website called The Gun Feed.
The Gun Feed is a 24/7 news website (Its like Drudge Report, but for guns) that is proudly devoted to the online firearms community. The site showcases the latest firearms news headlines from around the web and is updated many times throughout the day, everyday.
The Gun Feed was first launched in May of 2013, and since its inception it has seen a ground-swell of support within the firearms community and has experienced exponential growth in traffic. During it's four years on the web, The Gun Feed has covered more than 62,000 firearms related stories and established itself as the go-to resource for the most up to date and breaking firearms news on the web.
The Gun Feed has helped bring far reaching recognition to some of the great stories of the gun rights movement, and it has helped to shape and define the fight against the civilian disarmament movement that is currently being waged in this country.
If you have not visited the site before then go check it out... Bookmark it, make it your homepage, and visit back often. The website is continually being updated with fresh news headlines so there is always something new and interesting for firearm owners to read.
The Gun Feed also has a dedicated mobile page and it works great on mobile devices.
All correspondence, advertising inquiries, and news tips can be sent to TheGunFeed@Gmail.com.
You can also connect with The Gun Feed on Twitter… @TheGunFeed... and on Facebook. It's a really good aggregator. And with routine suppression from news feeds, the dominance of "mainstream media" agenda spin and social media bias, we need all the channels of truth dissemination we can get.

The Hawaii Loophole
In Monday's opinion, the [Indiana] Supreme Court wholly agreed with Judge May's analysis. Specifically, the court ruled that a police officer, acting only on a tip that a person possesses a handgun, may not detain that person to confirm that he has a license to carry... [More]As George Pace reminds me via email:
Hawaii would be the only state in the nation where this ruling would not apply (should it be appealed to and upheld by SCOTUS), and would allow police to do the stop and frisk because the "only ones" here would state in court "Your Honor, we knew this person in "the mere possession of a handgun" was illegally carrying a firearm because not one single person in the state of Hawaii may lawfully bear a firearm outside their home because no such currently valid permits have been issued."Aloha ʻOe.
The Wild West at Its Worst
Curtis-Gazit argues that Forest Service Road 357 should simply be closed to recreational shooting. But in addressing concerns there or in any one specific location, Williams said, "We want to ensure that we don't continue to move the issue across the forest or into less desirable places." [More]Translation: She doesn't want shooting anywhere. I'd be curious to know the split of residents making noise and those who enjoy living in an area where they've always had access to nearby areas.
Methinks Jane has a broader agenda:
“It sounds like you’re in a war zone, especially when they have the high powered rifles and AK-47s,” said Jane Curtis-Gazit who lives less than a mile from where she says irresponsible shooting is abundant on shared public land. A few weeks ago, she said, one of those bullets flew right over her head.Local media sure likes to parrot her talking points.
The fact that "A person was recently ticketed for illegal shooting" also tells us there are already restrictions in the area that the "reporter" has not seen fit to elaborate on.

Codevilla's prescription would allow red and blue states -- especially California -- to go their own way on red and blue issues, rather than trying to impose a particular side's views on the whole nation via the federal government. Maloney’s Stupid ‘Smart Gun’ Bill an Unintended Gift to Gun Owners
Because it shows Maloney for the sick tyrranophile that she is. It takes away the arguments that gun owner rights advocates are “paranoid” and that “No one wants to take your guns.” Of course they do. Every action on the part of these subversives under the guise of “common sense gun safety laws” is just another incremental nip toward that goal, and by going for this big a bite, Maloney shows her insatiable hunger and undeniable lust. [More]She's even uglier when she takes the mask off.
From That Point On
“From that point on, the data started getting murkier and murkier,” Swiat said. [More]Oh, it was murky long before then.
The problem comes with the presumption that all guns are brought on campuses by bad people with intent to harm. The bleaters doing the bidding of wolves have no idea how many citizens unwilling to surrender their rights take their chances and ignore stupid and offensive rules.

Follow the Leader?
Are Republicans lost in the spoils of power, just laying back and enjoying their super majority at the expense of good gun bills being left to languish? Why the reluctance to move on anything pro-Second Amendment? These are good questions to ask of House Speaker Tim Moore. [More]I have one more question:
If he's such a "leader," why the need to ask?
Moore was recommended by Grass Roots North Carolina-PVF where he was ranked 4 stars. He was endorsed by the NRA Political Victory Fund and rated as A+. That's a good start. It does get better as Rep. Moore was one of the speakers at a gun rights rally in 2013 organized by GRNC. Given their reputation as a "no compromise" organization, the fact that Moore would be one of the speakers says volumes about him.

Long story short-- a guy writes an article celebrating what the St. Louis Post-Dispatch did to Stacy Washington. I'd give a link to that except it's on a Nextdoor.com neighborhood site and you have to be a registered member to access it.
The following ensued in comments between a colleague and the author of the piece:
Speaking of his "own facts," Stacy Washngton has made it clear she is not "paid" by NRA. There's a difference between being paid and being reimbursed for travel expenses.
But then again, if Hillary can get away with "her truth," why wouldn't all "progressives" follow a model that works?

I wonder how soon Lincoln statues will get Talibaned. Talk about a racist:
More problematic were Lincoln’s views on race. He held opinions not very different from those of the majority of his racist countrymen. Even if slavery was wrong, “there is a physical difference between the white and black races that will for ever forbid the two races from living together on terms of social and political equality.” His solution was a form of ethnic cleansing: shipping blacks off to Liberia, or Haiti, or Central America — anywhere as long as it wasn’t the United States. That memorial in Washington has to go!

A False Assumption

The people I know and respect aren't "prejudiced against liberals."

Provided Your Assailant is Stupid
As anyone who would hold a gun on someone this way must be...
Back when I was young and immortal and taking all kinds of martial arts training, I could even get out of the way and strike a simulated blow with a "gun" pressed in my back before it could be fired. But fortunately, the gun wasn't real and the "assailant" was under instruction not to fire until I made the first move. Stress level and negative repercussions for failure were "zero."
It's not really that hard to understand -- it's why we leave car lengths between ours and the vehicle ahead based on speed. It takes an instant to realize and react, so the first move has the advantage.
I bring this up because there are some who watch an internet video or take a basic class and make the idiotic assumption they're ready to rumble. It's not like that, and as I've noted before, all other things considered, the most important element is will.

I'm no prude but just don't see the need to use the"f" word in public posts, at least not gratuitously, because Grandmas and kids.
It doesn't help that their main graphic relies on a fake Jefferson quote, long a pet peeve of mine.
If they truly are "liberals," they need to address the same disconnects as the earlier "Amendment II Democrats." And explain, with proofs that can be validated, how culturally-terraforming "immigration" policies with a "pathway to citizenship" and "birthright citizenship" WILL NOT result in supermajorities in state and federal legislatures that will be able to pass all kinds of anti-gun edicts, and WILL NOT result in nominations and confirmations of judges to the Supreme and federal courts who will uphold those edicts, and reverse gains made to date.

Besides, we've already had a border concert:

Police said they’d been told the Robert Eugene Owens, 46, of Fuquay-Varina, might have inflicted the injury on himself, but stopped short of saying that was definitely the case. [More]Here's the statement from Bearing Arms.
