This is a placeholder for now because I have not had ads on this blog for years. In case I ever start up again, this will be the policy in effect:
The FTC has some fool nonsense rules about ads on blogs or some such and presumes authority over the First Amendment to compel the unfunded mandate that we who earn ad revenues make some kind of disclosure so you don't think we're getting paid to say nice things about people or God knows what, meaning they must think you're stupid, too. I have had a few ads on this site in the past and may do so again if I think it's worth a try. Combined, I probably couldn't buy a box of good cigars each year, let alone a bottle of George T. Stagg, and that is somehow supposed to compromise my morality to force me to say nice things about products and services I don't mean simply in exchange for filthy lucre. If you believe that, leave now--you're not smart enough to be here. Bottom line, aside from welcoming a sponsor, I will do no posts related to their products or services, or reviews of what they offer.
About "The Only Ones"
The purpose of this feature has never been to bash cops. The only reason I do this is to amass a credible body of evidence to present when those who would deny our right to keep and bear arms use the argument that only government enforcers are professional and trained enough to do so safely and responsibly. And it's also used to illustrate when those of official status, rank or privilege, both in law enforcement and in some other government position, get special breaks not available to we commoners, particularly (but not exclusively) when they're involved in gun-related incidents.
Comment House Rules
Keep them on topic. No spam. No threats against anyone except me. Do not feed trolls--I'll take out the trash. Try to keep it clean. I'm the final arbiter. If you don't like the rules, start your own damn blog.
Link Policy
WarOnGuns reciprocates links with liberty-oriented sites promoting the right to keep and bear arms for all peaceable individuals. If you have linked to me and don't see your site below, it's probably just because I haven't noticed it yet. Shoot me an email via the "Contact Form" (see above in this sidebar) if you want to fix that.
As a general rule I remove links for blogs that have been inactive for over one year.
Alabama court records shows that Brandyn Paonessa filed for an emergency protection from abuse order against his wife on Monday, just three days before his death. [More]
So, in reality, they're not worth the paper they're written on?
Too bad "You must be a MoveOn member as of Monday, June 17, to participate," because I can think of all kinds of things to recommend in the "write-in" sections...
[O]ne officer told Green to "shut the hell up and stay on the ground" before walking away. A detective allowed Green to get up and told other officers he was police and "specifically directed them not to shoot Officer Green" ... While Green was giving the detective a description of the suspect, the lawsuit states Officer Christoper Tanner arrived on the scene, shouted, "Drop your weapon!" and simultaneously shot Green in the arm. Green's family witness the incident. [More]

I'd suggest ignoring the attention whore, except seeing how strident and extreme he gets provides a useful counterweight to the "commonsense gun safety laws" lie.

President Trump stands to lose voters in 2020 if his administration undermines the Second Amendment. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what’s happening. Consider the events of the last several weeks. [More]
That's an observation, not an urging. A solution is provided:
Having said that, there’s still time to turn things around. Donald Trump could get all of his base behind him by fixing his positions on bump stocks and suppressors and probably win big.
California governor says Republican Party is headed 'into the waste bin of history' [More]
He's probably right, even if it doesn't happen in 2020.
But I wouldn't be getting all smug about what that will bring about when self-determination has been denied and all means of peaceable redress have been blocked off.
Mike's observation "that the law protects them from us far more than it protects us from them" comes to mind.
Remember that title song? Vaguely? Quick: Who "starred" in the movie and the TV series it was the theme for...?
There's another Fame that should "live" forever, and the ideological cleansers in Salisbury, NC, are doing their utmost to go full Taliban on it. Wes Rhinier of NC Renegade got a sound bite in the news video, right after the commie freak in the "Destroy Capitalism Before It Grows" t-shirt.
All those hideous monsters know how to do is destroy.
Note how the reporterette, oozing with faux sincerity, says the statue can't be removed without Daughters of the Confederacy authorization "unless it showed clear, imminent danger to the community." Why not just tell viewers "If you want this to come down by court order, you're going to have to get more destructive and violent"?
But this way, we can add animated and malevolent statues right next to evil magic guns and spook the superstitious herd.
[T]he lawsuit, filed Wednesday, accuses police of using excessive force when they fired on 21-year-old Isaiah Hammett. Police have said Hammett first fired at officers with an assault rifle before officers returned fire, killing him. But the lawsuit says neither Hammett nor his grandfather, who was in the home at the time of the raid, were armed. [More]
San Jose police now say that "Rob" was actually Robert Davies, a 40-year-old police officer in the nearby city of San Mateo. He allegedly asked Esther to switch to Snapchat, where messages automatically self-delete. There, they "discussed her being 16 years-old, and chatted about engaging in sexual activity," a statement from the department said. [More]

Thing is, and I haven't had occasion to weaponize this particular slur, but I've gotten out of more than one altercation back when I was young and immortal by sizing up a potential assailant and deciding it was worth trying an aggressive verbal assault before things got real -- in other words, the posturing worked and stopped the violence.

“Basically, the Second Amendment is about killing Indians, taking their land, and increasingly, slave patrols,” Dunbar-Ortiz tells Truthdig Editor in Chief Robert Scheer in the latest installment of “Scheer Intelligence.” The “Loaded” author lays out the genocidal genealogy of the right to bear arms, and explains that, at its root, it ensured the ability of white men to oppress people of color in order to steal or keep stolen land, and to control slaves through slave patrols. This gem of logic caught my eye:
"Handgun licensing saves lives for the same reason drivers' licensing saves lives," Raskin said in a press release. "It takes the dangerous people out of our way as much as possible."
"The police need guns - at least until we get rid of the hundreds of millions of guns floating around," Sallie lets slip.
Still, with "Purty Mouth" Saslaw as Yasmine Taeb's primary target, there's something fascinating about watching a fight between a rat and a snake, and it's always a good time watching internecine Democrat warfare as the young Bolsheviks initiate purges against those who are no longer useful.

If they view themselves as heroic judges, juries and executioners, good. I don't much go for intimidating rah-rah myself. Plus, I've found occasion to call such attitudes out before, too.
True, the commies are going to exploit and skew and cherry pick and conflate and lie to smear and disempower their enemies, and the Democrats and the DSM will exploit that to the max. That's what they do and cops aren't the "Only Ones" they do it to. And true, the underlying agenda is to allow for more urban chaos as part of a larger plan of subversion.
I have a feeling the "security of a free state" is ultimately going to depend on another group entirely anyway.
“The purpose of the scheme was to obtain new non-roster handguns using the identities of sworn peace officers that Deaser would subsequently sell to individuals who were not sworn peace officers, and who were, therefore, prohibited by California law from purchasing new non-roster handguns directly from an FFL,” the charging document states. Can't have that, because it would defeat the whole point of being "Only Ones." What is it they are "sworn" to again...?
That said, being in such a highly-audited business, and making your practices known to customers with unknowable vulnerabilities, motivations and pressures, hardly seems sound.
"Surprising new evidence surfaced publicly today that could possibly prove that raw partisan politics are behind the Trump administration's plan to add a controversial new question to the census on citizenship..." [More]

As she was walking, another individual who was also walking alerted her to the fact that there was a coyote walking directly behind her. When the female turned around to see for herself, the coyote lunged at her. The victim fell to the ground and the stroller tipped over. The coyote allegedly bit the adult female on the back of her leg. The coyote then attempted to go after the child, biting him on his right leg. At this time, other individuals began to run towards the victim at which time she was able to get up and right the stroller. She attempted to flee at which time the coyote again lunged at her. [More]

"When it comes to defending our Second Amendment rights, there are a lot of potential fights. We are seeing attacks on multiple fronts, along with efforts to move forward on some other issues. But what should be the biggest priority?" [More]
The biggest priority is not the only priority, and activist gun owners should be able to walk and chew gum at the same time. If you focus only on what's in front, what's coming at you on the flank will kill you.

Because of my longstanding predisposed bias and in the interests of fairness, WarOnGuns sought out an impartial opinion:
What a load of hooey. But it fits right in the phony gun-grabber mantra, repeated ad nauseam by the media using phrases like “killed by guns,” redirecting responsibility from human abusers and allowing tools to be blamed in their stead. That also feeds the ubiquitous excuse for negligent discharges, particularly by those presumed trained enough to know better, “the gun went off.” [More]

Of course they do, even if others disagree. Had she left it at that instead of spewing demonstrable misinformation to untold numbers of trusting readers, there'd have been no need to challenge her. As is, the bad advice will no doubt reach a magnitude more people than the truth, something she obviously would rather see ignored than admit to, which tells us all we need to know about her.

What do you think, General Butler? Will it be worth me giving that "last full measure of devotion" while Lee and George inspire us, and if not, how could I stand by while someone else goes in my stead?
This being a "rightwing extremist" can get tricky ... I actually expect archaic anachronisms like Constitutional "declarations of war," so I can evaluate if my representative is representing me.
