It's Almost Like There are Two Sets of Rules or Something
I'm looking at the lack of prosecutorial interest in David Lacey and at the full-blown response against Michael Strickland ( found guilty of all 21 counts: 10 counts of unlawful use of a weapon, 10 counts of menacing, and one count of disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to 40 days in jail, 240 hours of community service, banned from taking video of people or events for at least 2017, and is also banned from owning guns) and I''m wondering why official reactions are so disparate.
Even Yul seems stumped.
It's the Ideology, Stupid
A former factory worker and day care operator whose gun rights speech before the Greensboro City Council in 2018 vaulted him to prominence among conservatives won the Republican nomination for North Carolina’s lieutenant governor on Tuesday in a crowded field. [More]So white nationalist racist nazis voted for him?

Sons of Democracy
Eighteen people were shot – including one fatally – late Saturday after a large fight broke out among several motorcycle clubs on the city’s East Side, Cleveland police said. [More]Nothing a universal background check, red flag law and bump stock ban won't fix, right?
Go get 'em, indignant MILMs!

Former Candidate Buttigieg and Democrats Pandering to People Adams Warned Us About
Back to Mayor Pete’s McDonalds Misadventure, what he and every politician pandering to a population intentionally debilitated by interference and dependency traps in every aspect of their lives fail to come to grips with is that more government control cannot be the answer to anything but how to create a totalitarian state with a monopoly of violence. That means no guns for you. [More]The great swindle here is, populations that feel victimized don't have a clue as to who is doing the victimizing of them, and have been for the most part redirected against those who know.
Deathwatch Over
| With profound apologies to Lovis Corinth... |
I did submit an article to AmmoLand a few minutes ago-- don't know if it will make it in tonight's release or not, but no matter. I also forced myself to respond to some emails and social media communications but had to regretfully decline an invitation from Michael Dukes for Firearms Friday.
I've actually been at the computer since this morning catching up and doing some behind-the-scenes sausage-making in addition to the above-mentioned article. That said, I have a tendency to push myself too much and don't want a relapse. I'm going to go take it easy for the rest of the day now, but if there's a lesson that's been brought home once more, it's that binge-watching TV -- just inputs with no processing and output -- is no damn good for the brain. It's just that book-reading, which I'm way behind on, has been too much effort.
Speaking of the boob tube (I'm strictly streaming, no over-the-air or cable, and if you're on the internet I don't need to be chastised for not boycotting everybody), and tying it all in with the cheesy title to this post, I watched the Bruce Willis remake of Death Wish yesterday, and sorry, Charles Bronson did it best.
Spoiler alert if you haven't seen it and want to.
Stop reading and go away now.
Stop reading and go away now.
Go on, beat it.
Scram.
Scram.
My biggest objection was his going to a Chicago gun store (!!!) where the clerk scoffed at FOID as a minor inconvenience and then sold him a full-auto machinegun that he used in the climax to blow away the bad guy. Hollywood feeds this crap to the public and they're ripe for swindling out of their rights, just like Josh Sugarmann intended.
I guess I expected better out of Willis, but after Clint Eastwood endorsing Mike Bloomberg, none of these f***ers with the universe revolving around their navels surprise me anymore.
OK, that's it 'til Monday unless I do a promotion of the AmmoLand piece or something YUGE! happens to drag me from my non-deathbed. Now back to the easy chair and some Magnum, P.I. (the real one).

As I Live and Breathe
Rough night last night-- I picked up something respiratory with a low-grade fever, hopefully not Ohio's first coronavirus case, and I'm going to go take it easy.
I'll try to get to comment approval a few times throughout the day but doubt if I'll be doing any more blog posts, so please don't expect anything on tips.
UPDATE: Yeah, great-granddaddy of all Type A flu bugs. Was actually semi-out of it last night-- kept waking up fixated and frustrated on an unresolvable legal point which, now, of course, I can't remember for the life of me because it was all in my head. Aside from a racking cough making the ribs and diaphragm sore as hell, I am mud-headed, dizzy and weak as a kitten, so if anybody wants to take a poke at me, now's a pretty good time.
Anyway, just got back from urgent care and the pharmacy and getting ready to go curl up in the easy chair. I'm taking today off and we'll see about tomorrow. I may just say screw it and start a long weekend of rest, recuperation and just plain laziness, milking this for all it's worth and scamming the family to wait on me.

Diversity and Tolerance, Opposite Day 'Progressive'-Style
Students held posters that said, “No human being is illegal" and “Everyone is welcome here.” [More]Except for anyone with a different point of view, of course.

Money Can't Buy You Love
Bloomberg suspends presidential campaign, endorses Biden [More]No surprise, really.
...nor does he have a clue as to how unlikeable he comes across...Let's hope furious Bernie supporters aren't willing to play along in the general election.
Meanwhile, over in the Giffords "A" State...
A UPS employee was arrested after allegedly threatening a mass shooting with over 20,000 rounds of ammunition found [More]I wonder if we'll find out anything about the ideologies he espoused.

A Republican, If You Can Keep Him
A man who gave a fiery speech for gun rights two years ago in Greensboro won his party's primary in North Carolina's lieutenant governor's race Tuesday night. [More]If you're from there and you want him, you're going to have to help him.

We're the Only Ones Threat Assessing Enough
Former NYPD boss Kerik says socialism now bigger U.S. threat than Islamist terrorism [More]And here I thought it was white nationalists.

They've Made Their Point?
Report: Pelosi Security Points Gun at Trump Supporters From New Jersey Rooftop [More]I pass this on because it is interesting, and outrageous if true. I do urge caution before just deciding it is and would like to see more substantiation first, including if a police report has been made.

All That and Then Some
Some now worry that widening the authority to prosecute immigration crimes will have sweeping effects. [More]By "some," they mean the people who want to rule and their useful idiot followers because there is quite literally nothing that could be done that they won't object to.

As the World Turns
The majority of Super Tuesday states, where 2020 Democrats presidential primary candidates are vying for delegates, have had their electorates rapidly changed by mass immigration to the United States over a relatively short period of time. [More]Good thing this has nothing to do with that "single issue."

It's Especially More Important than Your Children's
“You have an armed security detail that is likely equipped with the same firearms and magazines you seek to ban the common citizen from owning. Does your life matter more than mine or my family’s?” [More]Of course it does -- to him.
I'm just disappointed no one challenged him on all the follow-up lies he told.

From Such as These Lynch Mobs are Formed.
A paranoid militia infiltrating Texas police is bent on rebellion, ‘ready to rise up’ [More]Who's the one who sounds paranoid?
Yet Bud Kennedy's "Let's get 'em!" fanboys in comments will have none of looking at the truth or finding out a thing about men they have decided to hate and condemn.

In Defense of the Select Militia / Standing Army
I know it's been said many times, but it bears repeating that the police are the only defense we have against those beasts. [More]And that right there tells me all I need to know.

LAPD Has No Excuse for Not Arresting DA’s Husband for Brandishing ~ VIDEO
Consider if you pulled a gun on people outside your door who weren’t trying to break in or otherwise threaten you. You would already have been arrested and arraigned. And you know what? You’d deserve to be. You don’t pull a gun on someone unless you’re ready to use it, and if you do, you’d better make damn sure the threat is real. [More]I guess I misjudged the readership on this one and am frankly surprised by how many are siding with the anti-gun DA, saying their state laws allow them to open the door and escalate a situation by pulling a gun on people who are not trying to break in or otherwise threaten them, and that the DA, who is a top and connected lawyer advised by other top lawyers on just what to say to the media to sway public opinion, has made the only case they need to hear.

From the Man Who Surrounds Himself with Paid Lickspittles
You just don't touch stuff like that when other people are going to touching it afterward. I'm just spitballing here, but I'd say that's what happens when you're trying to pose as "just plain folks" and have absolutely no idea how to.
