There is no one more persistent than a liberal with a bad idea. He knows his intellectual and moral superiority make him infallible, so he easily convinces himself there is nothing wrong with his idea; it is the world that is mistaken Even the facts cannot be the facts when they disagree with his idea. So he forges ahead against all reason, attempting to remake the world until it accepts he was correct all along. That's because, in urban areas anyway, it gets their name in the paper, it gets them money and it gets them reelected. And it gives them cover from the fact that it's there policies that feed the problem, which is what they're counting on if they want to keep tapping into that sweet publicity, money and power.
Which brings me to the subject of gun bans. As useless as bans have proven, liberal politicians will raise the subject over and over.
Understand this makes him a threat, and that others who left the “plantation” have been mercilessly attacked for the grave offense of adopting an ideology of liberty instead of establishment-approved group think, as the experiences of other black leaders like Clarence Thomas, Larry Elder, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams and others have shown. Go ahead and Google some of those names along with the phrase “Uncle Tom” and see for yourself how vicious the "tolerant progressives” can get, particularly the indignant white ones. At least the "progressive" racists at the LA Times didn't call him an "Uncle Tom." [More]
The knives are out for Larry Elder, and the elites are out to destroy him using whatever they can make up.
The financial stuff is weak tea compared to the real sliming by the hostile ex you can expect them to exploit.
I'm actually surprised to see them going to all this trouble -- everything I've seen about the California electorate tells me he doesn't have a chance.

LIVE WITH DENNIS PRAGER AND LARRY ELDER - THE CHARLIE KIRK SHOW [Listen]I don't have a spare hour-and-a-half to listen to this and kind of get the feeling based on the participants that it will go light on 4GW... And give them a beachhead from which to launch the assault into the interior.
This is sedition -- but then again, we're talking about a creature who knows no law but his own.
There is no treason this parasitic whore will not commit to control what is not his.
Good thing this has nothing to do with that "single issue."
And sorry, I really wish it weren't so, but I think he'll slaughter Larry Elder. The best we can hope for is some people getting exposed to ideas they haven't entertained before, but even that will have to go through a DSM filter first.

Gavin Newsom wins in landslide... [More]
That's pretty much what I've been saying all along...
No doubt about it, Larry Elder is the (infinitely) better man with better policies, but you have to pick your battles, and going out there and getting very publicly stomped doesn't help him or his cause.

And they'll be doing what, exactly?
More importantly, are they there just for the political pandering optics, or will they have his ear, and will he actually listen?

I used it as research material to write a letter on the subject to the BATF tonight. I asked them for a formal response as to why Wahlberg gets a pass when others don't.Here are the results of his inquiry:
To those who asked me to keep them informed if the BATF ever responded to my letter of complaint about convicted felon Mark Wahlberg getting a "free pass" to possess guns while making one Hollywood shoot-em-up after another: the BATF has responded. To those who might be inclined to agree that B-A-T-F-U had insufficient evidence to go after Wahlberg, just remember that a picture in the paper was one of the reasons used to stormtroop in and destroy Wayne Fincher's life. Besides, movie productions keep meticulous accounting records on props rented, armorers and trainers hired, etc. Determining the truth would be an afternoon's work for a competent investigator.
There are only three sentences of actual content buried in a page and a half of pap. The first is a restatement of the definition of firearm in 27 CFR 478.11. The next two say:
"Because you saw this individual possessing a gun in a movie trailer, it is not known whether or not this item meets this definition. The possibility exists that it could have been a movie prop and made to function as a real weapon through the use of special effects."In my original letter, I wrote, "Please consider this a formal complaint. I ask that you look into this situation..." BATF's response: we won't even investigate. See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.
Imagine reporting a screaming street-rape to 911 and being told, "We're not coming out, because... well, you know, it's possible that they're just role-playing and she's actually enjoying it." Same logic, after all.
I have both my letter and BATF's scanned and waiting to go on the web. I have a TIME magazine photo of Wahlberg waving a pistol in a shot from "Four Brothers." I'm waiting to obtain a vidcap of Bob Hoskins brandishing the "toon gun" from Roger Rabbit. I want to run the page under the headline, "If you can tell the difference... the BATF needs you!"
